Welcome to Zacatlán de las Manzanas, a magical town located in the heart of the Sierra Norte de Puebla. Zacatlán is famous for its beautiful panoramic views, its cool climate, and its apple and cider production. If you are planning a visit to Zacatlán, do not miss the opportunity to explore some of its most emblematic sites of interest.

 

Palacio Municipal

It is a beautiful typical architectural construction, it was carried out between the years of 1876 and 1896, its façade is neoclassical with gray quarry reliefs. The construction project was by the French architect La Salle, the initiative was by José María Guzmán, for presentation to the authorities. Designed by cartoonist Manuel Medina.

Ex-Convento Franciscano

The construction of the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo began in 1562 and was completed in 1567. It is the oldest open for worship in the state of Puebla and served the Franciscans as a headquarters to disseminate pre-Hispanic culture. In its restoration, murals of Spanish and indigenous characters in daily activities were found.

Parroquia De San Pedro y San Pablo

The parish of San Pedro. The time of its foundation is unknown, but due to the baroque, sober, indigenous or tequitqui style characteristics on the façade, they refer to the 17th or 18th century. On its front it has the characteristic of an altarpiece, including the statues of San Pedro and San Pablo, patron saints of the municipality, with popularly made mortar ornaments.

Jicolapa

Jicolapa Zacatlan; In this town, the "Lord of Jicolapa" is venerated, an image that appeared on the walls of what is now his chapel. Every February the patron saint festivities are celebrated in honor of its patron saint. Jicolapa has a place known as "the baths", naturally formed pools of water, there is a pool known as "seven sighs" where the water that supplies pools and pools is born.

Reloj Floral

The Reloj Floral is a unique and beautiful landmark in Zacatlán, Mexico. It is located in the heart of the city, in the Plaza Cívica. The Reloj Floral is a flower clock, and it is the first and only one of its kind in the world. It has two faces, each of which is 5 meters in diameter. The faces are made of flowers, and they are arranged to tell the time.

Vitro-Murales

A 150-meter-long mosaic mural was inaugurated in Zacatlán in 2015. It was created by local and foreign artists and depicts scenes from the city's history. The mural is made of recycled glass and mosaics of different colors. The project was initiated by Mary Carmen Olvera.

Paseo de la Barranca

A 1-kilometer-long corridor was built to enjoy the incomparable landscape from its different terraces. One of its viewpoints has a glass floor and railing, and it also features one of the world's largest mosaic murals. From any point of this route, you can observe the waterfall of "los jilgueros" in the southern body of the ravine.

Piedras Encimadas

The Valle de Piedras Encimadas is located near Zacatlán, less than 25 km away. It is a valley of massive rock formations that form spectacular figures, up to 20 meters high. The rocks are believed to have been eroded by rain and wind over millions of years. Visitors often see different shapes in the rocks, such as elephants, camels, turtles, and human faces.

Catarata De San Pedro

The waterfall has a drop of approximately 20 meters and can be viewed from above or down a path to the pool. The waterfall is surrounded by lush vegetation and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the pool at the base of the waterfall, hiking in the surrounding area, or simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Tuliman

The ecotourism park has a waterfall divided into 3 bodies, a mineral water spring, a suspension bridge, a hollow tree that can fit 12 people, the waterfall of "El Cajón", cabins, 10 palapas, and a zip line. Visitors can enjoy the park's more than 90 hectares of typical mountain geography, the union of two rivers, and different and beautiful channels. They can also practice tree climbing and have fun on a 120-meter long zip line.
